11^th ANNUAL NEAL CASSADY BIRTHDAY BASH – Feb 7 2020 – 8pm

* David Amram Quartet headlined 11^th Annual Event

On Friday February 7^th 2020 the David Amram Quartet headlined the annual Bash which also featured poetry and reminiscences celebrating the life of Neal Cassady, which started at 8:00pm, upstairs at the Mercury Café at 2199 California Street in Denver. Tickets were available at the door or in advance from BrownPaperTickets.com.

In addition, a drawing of a life size sculpture of Neal and Jack Kerouac, by noted bronze artist Sutton Betti, was on display. Also, John Hayden led a walking tour of Neal’s Denver haunts starting at the Mercury Café at 3pm on Friday February 7th prior to the Bash.

And, coinciding with the 11^th Annual Bash, the Denver Public Library hosts an exhibit at the Central Branch located at 10 W. 14^th Ave. Pky. entitled, “Neal Cassady’s Denver.” The exhibit featuring first editions and other memorabilia relating to Cassady’s Denver years will run from January 10^th to March 31^st.
